Mount Cameroon Trekking Tour

An international group trekking tour to Mount Cameroon starts on 19-Nov-2018, 14-Jan-2019, 04-Mar-2019.

This one week tour takes you to the summit of Mount Cameroon (second highest mountain in Africa). You will have the opportunity to spend some relaxation time at the beach, the Limbe botanical garden and the Limbe zoo (Wildlife center) before climbing. Fresh food will be brought on the mountain everyday of the climbing. Mount Cameroon has a wonderful landscape and you may take the best photos ever.

This tour also gives you the opportunity to walk on the volcanic black-sand beach in Limbe, walk on the solidified lava flow of the 1999 Mount Cameroon volcanic eruption, and have lunch at the famous "Down-Beach" and visit the Cameroon Tea Estate's tea plantation.

Our quote includes: transport to and from Douala International airport, overnights in good tourist class hotels or camps (on the basis of 2 people sharing a room/tent), food, transport by private car, fuel, toll gates, driver, guide, porters, excursion fees.
Our quote excludes: flight tickets, airport taxes, tips to guides/porters, photography fees, other meals, other equipments or private expenses.

We provide tents and cookers. Please, bring your own sleeping bags or contact us if you would need to rent one.

Day 01

Arrival and reception at the Douala International Airport
Transfer to hotel in Limbe and overnight

Day 02

Relaxation at the Limbe volcanic black-sand beach
Visit the Limbe botanical garden
Visit the Limbe zoo (Widlife center)
Lunch at Down-Beach with spicy rosted fresh fish
Travel to Buea and check in at hotel
Dinner and overnight in hotel

Day 03

Transfer to the foot of Mount Cameroon
Trekking up to hut 2
Relaxation, guided tour through huge caves and find stalagmites and earth pillars.
Barbecue and camping at hut 2.

Day 04

Trekking up to hut 3
Relaxation, taking of photographs
Continue trekking up to the summit
Start descending towards Mann Spring
Barbecue and camping at Mann Spring

Day 05

Descend continues in the middle of the rainforest to the crater-lake. Possibility to watch elephants
Barbecue and camping at Drink-Gary

Day 06

Trek for 5 to 6 hours to Bakingili
Walk on the solidified lava flow from the 1999 Mount Cameroon volcanic eruption
Relaxation at the volcanic black-sand beach
Dinner and overnight

Day 07

After breakfast, travel to Idenau to discover the traditional fishing industry
Return to Limbe, relaxation at the beach
Travel to Douala and transfer to the Douala International Airport for departure

An international sporting event up to the summit of Mount Cameroon, 4 100m above sea level, it is the second highest mountain in Africa.

Ngondo Cultural Festival

An annual event when the Duala people perform cultural and traditional rytes. The main focus been the retrieval of the sacred pot from the sea.

Bamoun Cultural Festival (Ngouon)

This event brings together the Bamoun people, it is organized once every two years. The date can not be known in advance. However it is organized in December of the even years, e.g, December 2012, December 2014, December 2016, etc.
